THINGS COOLING OFF A LITTLE BIT COMING UP SHERY. ALL RIGHT, ALLISON, WE’LL SEE YOU IN A FEW. YOU KNOW, THE END OF THIS WEEK WILL MARK THE NEXT BIG STEP FORWARD FOR OHIO’S RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA PROGRAM. TALKING ABOUT THIS FOR A WHILE, IT’S FINALLY HERE. FRIDAY, MEDICAL DISPENSARIES CAN START APPLYING FOR A LICENSE TO SELL WEED TO EVERYONE. WLWT NEWS FIVE’S TODD -- IS LIVE RIGHT NOW WITH HOW ONE INDUSTRY INSIDER VIEWS THIS MILESTONE. TODD YEAH, MIKE, YOU KNOW, IT’S A MILESTONE THAT MATTERS A LOT TO EXPERTS WHOSE JOB IT IS TO TURN MARIJUANA PLANT MATERIAL INTO THE THINGS THAT CONSUMERS INCREASINGLY WANT, INCLUDING WEED INFUSED GUMMIES. THESE ARE PRODUCTS THAT ARE MADE WITH CRAFT TECHNIQUES THAT HAVE BEEN DEFINED AND REFINED OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS. CRAFTING CANNABIS EDIBLES IS ONE OF THE MANY HATS JASON LIPPMAN WEARS AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF 100% LABS, A MARIJUANA PROCESSING COMPANY. WE’VE INFUSED CBC IN OUR GUMMIES UNDER THE STRAWBERRY, PEACH AND BANANA CREAM. IT’S A REALLY GOOD DAYTIME CANNABINOID, HELPS GIVE A LITTLE BIT OF ENERGY, A LITTLE BIT OF A MOTIVATION. AN. BASED IN MOUNT ORAB IN BROWN COUNTY, LITMAN AND HIS COLLEAGUES MAKE A HOST OF WEED INFUSED PRODUCTS SOLD UNDER THE NAMES AURA AND 100% IN MEDICAL DISPENSARIES THROUGHOUT THE BUCKEYE STATE. WE’RE AVAILABLE IN OVER 100 DISPENSARIES TODAY, AND THOSE SAME PLACES ARE GOING TO SOON BE OPENING THEIR DOORS TO ADULT USE CUSTOMERS HERE IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE. THE QUESTION EAGER CANNABIS CONSUMERS ARE ASKING WITH MORE FREQUENCY IS WHEN WILL THAT NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE ARRIVE? IN OTHER WORDS, WHEN CAN ALL ADULTS IN OHIO NOT JUST MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENTS BY LEGAL WEED AFTER VOTERS GAVE POT THE GREEN LIGHT AT THE BALLOT BOX LAST FALL, IT LOOKED LIKE SALES WOULD START IN SEPTEMBER. BUT NOW IT APPEARS WEED COULD BE SOLD MUCH SOONER AND SOME DISPENSARIES POSSIBLY IN THE NEXT 2 TO 3 WEEKS. LITMAN FEELS CONFIDENT THAT REGULATORS IN COLUMBUS KNOW THE PUBLIC IS EAGER TO SEE THE ADULT USE PROGRAM GET OFF THE GROUND, AND THOSE SAME PLACES ARE GOING TO SOON BE OPENING THEIR DOORS TO ADULT USE CUSTOMERS HERE IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE. IT’S BEEN REALLY COOL TO SEE GOVERNOR DEWINE, THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AGENTS, THE LICENSEES, AND EVEN THE PEOPLE OF OHIO COME TOGETHER TO TRY TO ROLL OUT THIS PROGRAM A LITTLE BIT EARLY. YOU KNOW, MARIJUANA PROCESSING COMPANIES, LIKE 100% LABS ARE WORKING TO MAKE ENOUGH PRODUCT TO MEET THE EXPECTED RECREATIONAL SALES DEMAND, WHILE, OF COURSE, MANAGING THEIR OWN INVENTORIES CAN BE A TRICKY BALANCE THERE, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA THAT PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO BUY WHEN THOSE RECREATIONAL SALES COME ONLINE WILL BE SOMEWHAT LIMITED, AT LEAST AT THE START, TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY ADULT IN OHIO WHO WANTS TO BUY LEGAL MARIJUANA CAN DO SO. FOR NOW. REPORTING LIVE TONIGHT, TODD --
