The Team

TRE - Enablement at R&D Asia, is an organisation that is responsible for the whole vehicle validation, project office, product description, and layout. We create cross-functional frameworks and methods for developing, verifying, and validating the complete vehicle. We are now searching for a manager for the group TREO – R&D Project Office. This team is responsible for:

  • Project leading product introductions
  • Setting overall time plans and follow-up progress
  • Own and host demos, sprint reviews, and PI planning
  • Set the overall test plans for whole vehicle validation
  • Coordinate test vehicle builds

In this role, you have interfaces towards the whole Research & Development organisation and all cross-functions. You will therefore build a strong network and gain knowledge about the complete process to take a product from idea to reality. You will work with many different stakeholders on all levels in the organisation which will develop your communication and leadership. The organisation is under build-up in China and you will be based as a manager in China. We are therefore looking for candidates who want to get an international experience.

Your Role

You will be a group manager for a team of project leaders. You will be responsible for developing the individuals and team in leadership, communication, risk management, and how to successfully gather the organization to deliver the project at the right time. This includes setting processes, methods for the team as well as recruitment and competence development.

You will also be responsible to lead the daily operations in the team and help the team to set plans and goals to reach short- and long-term objectives. Therefore you need to be able to navigate well between details and totality.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you need to have previous experience as leader within hardware and/or embedded systems software development. You are a strong team player and a natural leader, who want to continuously develop your leadership. You are enthusiastic and you can see people and their possibilities.

Furthermore, you must be strong in building teams, lead cross-functional work, be communicative, take initiative, and show drive to act. You need to have a clear goal and work intentionally to reach that.

You are fluent in English and have an engineering degree, Bachelor's or Master's level.

Work Location

The work location for this position is in our office in China, so you must be available for relocation.

Provide first level day-to-day administrative and technical supervision for a staff of professional engineers and technicians within an engineering department unit to accomplish specific engineering projects. Review technical feasibility of proposed solutions to engineering problems. Specialize in areas of competence (electrical, mechanical, etc.) depending on the function according to the type of product or process. Responsible for the results of the unit's efforts and for the effectiveness of their overall integration within other units. Direct work assignments, scheduling, and reviews of work in progress. Handle personnel actions including performance reviews, salary recommendations, and coordination of training and development. Help solve difficult technical problems. Typically lead a staff of five to ten professionals.
