About ParentVue ParentVue is a safe, secure, Internet-based communications tool connected to the District 47 student database that allows parents/guardians to participate more directly in their students' learning and school. Parents access ParentVue to: report student absences enroll their student for the upcoming school year update contact and emergency contact information view transportation/bus information track students' academic performance obtain fee waiver forms If you require assistance with ParentVue, please contact the main office at your child's school or the District 47 Help Desk at hd@d47.org or 815.788.5080. Creating a ParentVue account: 1. Click on ParentVue from the district website or any school website. 2. Click "I have an activation key and need to create my account." 3. At the Privacy Statement, click I Accept. 4. Enter your first and last names and activation key. 5. Click on Continue to create your unique username and password*. 6. Parents/guardians can assist both before and during an emergency by adhering to the following: Keep contact information up-to-date in ParentVue. Regularly check both your contact information and your emergency contacts in ParentVue. Having up-to-date contact information and not opting out of district messages will ensure that you receive messages from the district in the case of an emergency. Adhere to visitor protocols. All visitors and volunteers must undergo a background check and wear a lanyard when visiting the school. Schools may create additional protocols for safety and convenience (i.e., drop-off bins outside the school for forgotten items). By limiting unnecessary visits inside the school during busy times of the day, such as arrival, midday and dismissal, office staff can remain focused on the immediate needs of students and their building. If a child will be absent from school, parents/guardians must log into ParentVue to report the absence before the start of the school day -- by 8:50 a.m. (preK and elementary) and by 7:30 a.m. (middle school). Once logged into ParentVue, click the Report Absence button to complete the quick, two-step process. Note: You must state the reason for your child’s absence in order to complete this process.
